SCADA Alarmsignalisation System (add on)

Syseca implemented Web enabled presentation of SCADA pictures and alarm lists on the SBB Intranet thus enabling all authorised Users to access this vital information without dedicated software installation on their PCs.

Syseca provided a total solution including analysis, specification, software engineering and follow on support and maintenance services.

Alarmhandling Database

EWZ are one of the 6 largest energy companies in Switzerland having their own production, transmission and distribution network and retail supply operation.

Syseca has provided the complete range of consultancy and software development services to EWZ in several projects for example the 'Event and Alarm Information System' (ESIS).

In this project we implemented a client/server architecture based on an Oracle database and Active Server Pages (Microsoft) on the clients.

The resulting functionality allows EWZ to:

Record events and alarms of the transmission and distribution network of Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland
Group events and alarms by underlying cause or disturbance for subsequent analysis
Add comments concerning the cause of the disturbances
Present the individual events and alarms or disturbance groupings according to a variety of query criteria
Archive the event/ alarm/ disturbance information
Produce a range of reports including statistics concerning the quality of EWZ's services measured in terms of consistency and overall availability of energy deliveries.

Of particular technical significance is the fact the ESIS is entirely a web (intranet) based solution.

EWZ are working with the new system to their full satisfaction. The automate interfaces to SCADA, GIS and SAP enable the users to see a fully integrated picture of a disturbance situation including the geographical picture and the list of consumers which have been hit by the problem.
